After the afternoon meeting, he came back to his office. On his desk, there is a box of cakes.
"Miss Lee, my meeting hours is often unpredictable, so you don't have to prepare food for me."
He informed his secretary.
"Director, it wasn't me, I thought that you are the one who ordered delivery."
He think for a while, then it crossed his mind what she said that day in the park, that she will take care of him, and looking the familiar cake house name, could it be her?
He decided gave a call to the cake house.
"Oh..it's a lady that ordered it."
"In that case, Sir, I need you to do me a favor...."
Two days later, he received a call from her.
"Xue Zhang, what are you doing?!" She shouted at him on the phone.
"When did I offended you? Why are you so angry?!" He laugh by himself.
"Why did you buy cake for me?" She questioned him like a cop questioning a criminal.
"How did you definitely is me? Maybe it's some of your secret admirer!" He's trying very hard not to laugh out.
"No. Definitely it's you. Right?"
He laughed admitting it was him.
"There are no reason why it is always you to take care of me, by right I should be taking care of you on behalf of your future girlfriend! The way you are feeding me, I'll definitely becomes fatty in a month time and then how am I supposed to get a boyfriend for myself? "
While laughing away, he told her, "Can't find one?! Then just come into my arms..."
"Xue Zhang, what are you saying?"
That's right! He have no idea what is he trying to tell her too.
"If you can't finish it during lunch time, then put it aside and eat it later."
Very often, she had to work late so it is important for her to take care of her own health.
"Xue Zhang....."
Finally, she got to know a much more stubborn person than her. At first, she plan to take this opportunity to repay him for buying her all those broadway show tickets in London. Who knows he will come out with this and after arguing for quite sometime, she still couldn't win him. Just have to listen to him,... his so-called "Tea-Time Date" cakes....really don't know whether to laugh or to angry with him for coming up with this "Tea-Time Date". It just that, everyone in the office assumed the one that send her cakes everyday must be her boyfriend. The truth is that she is not seeing anyone, anyway she is lazy to explain to everyone in the office already.
Since then everytime they see each other, she often gets angry talking about this "Tea-Time Date"...but after a long discussion, both of them agreed other that no more this "Tea-Time Date" in the future.
It's Autumn already...but for the past 2 days weather was extremely hot.
After giving her client a short briefing, she came back to office to finish her works. She promise the client that she will show him, his amended floor plan tomorrow. By the time she finish finalizing the amended floor plan, she stood up to take a look around and by then she only realized that everyone had left and it's already 8pm.
She stretched her waist and look around for a while. Just now she was concentrating to finish up the floor-plan,so did not feel hungry at all. And feeling much more relax after finishing up her work, her stomach started growling already. Now she misses a lot Xue Zhang "Tea-Time Date"cakes.
Phone rings. It was him.
"Xue Zhang, finish working already is it?" She is definitely happy that he called.
"Why so excited?"
"Emm...just finish rushing of my works, of course feeling happy..."
Her laughter can be heard all time.
"Still in office? Had your dinner already?" He just finish rushing off some reports too, just felt like listening to her voice after one long day in office.
"Not yet, planning to go home now and make something to eat then."
She is packing up her stuff while saying that.
"Then let's have dinner together! I haven't take my dinner too...emm...I'll pick you up from your office in 20mins time."
They went to night market for Naengmyeon (Cold Noodles in Soup) and Tteokbokki (Stir Fried Rice Cake).
Looking at her enjoying the foods so much, he felt envy.
It is so easy to satisfy her needs and wants. Very often she could be easily happy for the whole day because of some small things.
"Xue Zhang, don't forget. We are going for movie on the next day." She reminded him.
They had make plans to watch movie together this Friday.
It's not that he likes to go for movie in the cinema but it just that as the MBS business planning department director, he had to know what is the current movie goers preferences are, so watching movie becomes part of his job.
Actually, he had got used to go for movie all by himself, but knowing that she is loves to watch movie a lot, in the end, both of them always goes together.
"Since when I forgotten our date before? You this busy woman are the one kept me waiting outside the cinema for almost an hour, remember?"
"I remembered!"
She have decided that this time no matter she will definitely be earlier than him.
On Friday, his meeting ended arounf 6.30pm. He went back to office right after it.
Xian Da came along to his office, wanted to discuss with him regarding the selection of the new TV programs presenter.
Worrying that he might be late, he talks to Xian Da while packing up his stuff and the worst he is not paying attention to Xian Da, just simply answered him.
Couldn't help himself, Xian Da makes fun of his boss.
"Xiang Zhe, where are you going? Going to meet up with girlfriend is it? "
Girlfriend? Hearing what Xian Da said and thought of her at the same time, he smile joyfully.
Looking at Xiang Zhe expression, Xian Da opened his eyes widely staring at him like some alien, very surprised tone, "You really have girlfriend already?!"
"She is my junior from Cambridge."
"Junior? Who are you trying to kidding ? Look at you just now, smile so happily, that is the look of a man that is in love."
"Mr. Jin Xian Da (team leader? What is the other that I can use here?), since you are such an observant person, why don't you go to host the matchmaking program?"
He patted Xian Da shoulder, and left Xian Da with full of unanswered questions that Xian Da had asked him. He rushed to the cinema.
He likes to be earlier than her. Likes to use the eyes to take down her looks when she walks right to him.
From far, he could see her carrying her big briefcase, picking up her footsteps faster walking towards him.
"Not again. I'm late again." She wanted to be earlier than him but who knows when she was about to leave, her boss asked her to stay for a little while for a short meeting, so, she had to come up with some excuses to postponed the meeting. In the end, she is still late.
"Why is your briefcase so big as if you are running away from home?" He took her briefcase from her.
"I knew that I'm late already, so I just put everything into my briefcase."
"Eaten already or not?"
Since she rushed here, definitely she didn't grab anything to eat at all.
She just smile at him.
Take a look at his watch, there are still some more time before the movie start, he passed back her briefcase to her, "I'll go to get something for you to eat, you just wait for me here."
"No need...."
Before she could finish her sentence, he already run towards the shops opposite the cinema.
In front of the coffee shop, the queue was quite long, but he queue patiently too because she likes this coffee shops cakes.
Suddenly someone gave Xiang Zhe a tapped on the back.
Turning to have a look, he saw Shi Jie
“What a coincidence” It’s been a while since he met him
“Accompanying Mei Na for shopping” Shi Jie turned towards the direction of the coffee shop and indicated
Mei Na is Shi Jie’s girlfriend
“Hey, You’re really good at keeping your secrets eh” Shi Jie looked across the street and smiled slyly
“What?” Xiang Zhe didn’t catch Shi Jie’s implication
“Don’t show me a poker face! When did you start to date such a pretty girlfriend?” Shi Jie pouted and looked across the opposite street
“Don’t spout nonsense, she’s just my (Xue Mei) junior”
With laughter spreading across his face, Xiang Zhe looked across the street and saw her looking towards them as well
“Xue Mei? Huh? You’re too much. You, Director Yin, is an important and busy man. Even if we want to meet up with you, we need to make appointments. So how could it be possible that she’s just purely a xue mei relationship where you bring out to watch movies and try out local delights at the food junction every other day?”
“Food Junction?”
“Yeah! Last week I was there with Mei Na as well and I saw the two of you, chatting happily away, so intimate. I don’t believe that she’s not your girlfriend!”
“Oh yeah! And…that time at the café, she’s the girl I saw and you told me you didn’t know her.”
Shi Jie pointed out to Xiang Zhe his white lie, trying to make him confess
This is really a small world, Xiang Zhe will never be able to claim his innocence
“Mister, here’s the coffee and snacks you ordered”
“Big director Zhang, I really must leave now! If not, my ‘girlfriend’ will be angry!” Taking the bag of food and smiling, Xiang Zhe gave Shi Jie a slap on his back and left
This guy… he’s just like a policeman interrogating a criminal
When Shan Mei saw that Xiang Zhe has bought her, her favourite snacks, she gave him a captivating smile
“Was that tour friend just now?” She asked; busy eating at the same time
“Yeah, a schoolmate from England” he nodded his head in reply
“No wonder you guys chatted so happily”
Help me finish this!” Shan Mei broke a piece of biscuit and fed it to Xiang Zhe
As he ate, Xiang Zhe cannot help but smiled to himself as he recalled his conversation with Shi Jie
“Xue Zhang, What are you smiling at?” Shan Mei looked at him suspiciously and questioned
“Nothing! Let’s go, we need to go in now. “ He pulled her along as they entered the cinema
The movie that they are watching was a family biographic, about how a little boy left his grandma in the country for the city and the epic span 2 generations. Shan Mei concentrated on the movie
He’s troubled and somehow, he couldn’t find the peace he needs
Today, two of his best friends told him that he’s in love. Has he really fallen into the web of love?

“Oh! Don’t ask me to accompany you for movies anymore. Look at you, your face is all drenched with tears and you’ve got a running nose, it really upsets me.” Coming out of the cinema, he couldn’t help but tease her about her swollen eyes that was caused by excessive crying
“What a hard-hearted man you are!” She replied as she fasten her seat belt
He looked at her and thought she was really cute
“Aiyo! Xue Zhang, please concentrate on your driving!” She gave him a playful smile and switched on the radio

Anne Murray’s song floated across the airwaves. Both listened quietly as the song “ Could I have this dance” played on

He wants to tell his girlfriend that although he’s been enlisted for the army and is unable to be by her side all the time, his heart will always be with her. Always!” The radio DJ read out the dedication
“It’s so touching, right?” Shan Mei softly commented and turned and looked at Xiang Zhe
He gave her a smile
She’s actually a very warm-hearted and kind/considerate/generous/full of life girl when she shed her professional interior designer image she projects
“Xue Zhang, Have you found a girlfriend yet?” Shan Mei suddenly asked
“I guess….. perhaps I’ve already found her. He told himself
He did not answer her question but only gave her a smile
“Hey! What are you smiling at?” His smile was a little vague
“You’re too good a temporary girlfriend! So much so that I can’t find a better replacement”
“What kind of funny and twisted answer is this?” She was a little shocked
“Who on earth will be like that… tomorrow….no… right now, I’ll resign right now” She pouted her lips and said
“Resignation not approved. You said it yourself. Before I have a girlfriend, you’ll take care of me on her behalf.” Smiling at her as he replied, his smile radiated warmth that made Shan Mei’s heart skip a few beats. She has a sense of uneasiness.
“ I haven’t met such a guy like you who’s so cocky and playful. I really regretted volunteering in the first place. It’s really my luck. It’s a pity since I have to repay the kindness you showered me in London” She gave him a pitiful look and shook her head
He laughed. The laughter was filled with happiness
“Are you in a rush to go back home today?” Xiang Zhe asked
Shan Mei shook her head. She does not have to go back to the office tomorrow
“Lets go then. We shall go look that the stars.” Xiang Zhe gave Shan Mei a smile and turned the car around, heading towards the outskirts of the city
He wanted to bring her up to the mountain to look at shooting stars
He speeded along the highway
“Xue Zhang, do you really have to drive so fast? It’s very dangerous.” A worried looking Shan Mei commented
In England, she had already noticed Xiang Zhe’s habit of speeding on the road. Back in Seoul, whenever he’s on the highway, he would accelerate till he reached he speed limit.
Glancing at her, he gave her a smile, slowing down the car a little
There were already lots of people on the mountaintop when they reached. All were waiting for the shooting stars to appear
He seems to visit this place often for like a frequent visitor, he knew where to lead her to a quite and scenic spot that was away from the crowd.
“Do you come here often?”
“I do come her e sometimes to have a breather”
He pointed out the various sights of the surrounding area. From where she was standing; high on the mountaintop; she delightedly followed his directions, appreciating the night scenery of Seoul.
“Later when you see shooting stars, don’t forget to make a wish okay” He smiled and looked at her
She returned his smile
“Xue Zhang, Actually…There’s also a romantic of you too.”
“Really? You’re the first person who said that I’m a romantic person.”
With her, he always feels an unidentifiable sense of warmth
“Xue Zhang… Look!”
She pointed to the sky excitedly
The night sky was illuminated by fine streaks of sparkling stardust
“It’s so beautiful!” She exclaimed happily
Following the laughter and delight in her voice, Xiang Zhe is filled with happiness.
With a blink of the eye, the night sky returned to its original stillness
“Xue Zhang, I forgot to make a wish just now!” Shan Mei sudden;y remembered what she has not done
“You’re such a blur queen (Hu Tu Dan= Blur Egg… but it sounds bad)!” He smooth her head gently
“Will you get scolded? It’s almost midnight already.” This is the first time that he has sent her home so late.
“Well, there’s no choice! A once in every 33 years rear sight and I shouldn’t miss it for anything. If I do get a scolding, guess I’ll just have to bear with it. I’ll just coax my father and it should be alright” She replied playfully, sticking out her tongue
“I think your dad has spoiled you” He looked at her lovingly
“My dad has got only this one precious daughter!” She told him confidently
“Okay! Quick go in now!”
“Okay” She nodded her head
“Xue Zhang….” Suddenly, she gave him a pull, tiptoeing, she gave him a kiss on his right cheek
“English style……” She said, a little shy
At that moment, his heart was bursting with joy
“I enjoyed myself a lot tonight. Thank You” She smiled at him gently
“I’m also very happy” he returned her a big, wide smile
His eyes sparkled with an unknown sort of brightness; at that very moment, her heart beat so fast that it almost jumped out of her mouth, making her feel hot all over
“Xue Zhang, Goodnight! Drive safely.” She disappeared into the house in a flashed
He tossed and turned on his bed, unable to sleep. His mind is full of images of her… and that kiss.
He must have fallen for her. Xiang Zhe thought
