The cab turns into the car park of Hyung-Chul's villa complex just as the sky begins to pale. He steps out, his clothes damp from the lingering drizzle -- he'd spent the wee hours of the morning outside Sun-Mi's gate, watching the light in her window, sending telepathic messages between spates of directing the drivers of a stream of arriving delivery trucks where to unload.

Unable to sleep, he showers, letting the hot water soak up the chill, then settles into a living room chair.

"Well, that's done. It would put any woman in a receptive mood," he mutters, smiling. "Next -- the ring. And then..."

The phone rings, interrupting his thoughts.

He picks up. "Hello? It's me."

His father's voice erupts through the receiver. "I've been trying to reach you all last night! Did you hear about Joo-Hee?"

"I did..."

"Director Yoo is furious! Everything we've worked for is at risk! Are you going to do something to fix this?"

"Yes, I'm planning to attend Joo-Hee's wedding."

"Cut the crap! Think what your mother would..."

Hyung-Chul interrupts, "Let's not bring her into this."

"That's enough!" Chairman Yoon snaps. "Did Joo-Hee do this because of your scandal with that 'other' woman?"

Hyung-Chul's jaw clenches. The insult to Sun-Mi stings, but he keeps his voice steady, "Jin Sun-Mi? After I speak with her father, I want to bring her to meet you, too..."

"You'll do no such thing! You know this matter with Joo-Hee isn't over! So don't make any rash moves that you'll regret. We'll discuss this in my office, later!"

"If you say so."

He puts the handset back in its cradle.

A confident smirk plays on his lips. "Threaten all you like, Father," he says to himself, "By tomorrow, if everything goes well, it will be too late to stop me."
