"Jin Sun-Mi may appear naive with her 'good girl' act, but she plays the gold-digging game as well as anyone." -- Kim Eun-Ki

PYEONGCHANG-DONG, SEOUL...

"It appears your 'fool-proof' plan has hit a major snag," Eun-Ki gloats to his sister with an ‘I-told-you-so' grin, then tosses a shot of Kentucky bourbon down his throat to celebrate.

"What gives you that idea?" Eun-Hee immediately questions his assertion.

"Don't you read the gossip pages? Given the opportunity, it didn't take Director Yoon long to trade up from a spring filly of questionable merit, to real thoroughbred with a prestigious pedigree," he replies with a chuckle.

"Tssst..." she snorts. "Is that how you look at women, like they're horses?"

"In this case, the analogy fits," he argues. "Hyung-Chul has placed his bet on a sure winner with Park So-Won. Director Park might not like the Yoon's, but he'll do anything for his niece, including voting his shares in their favor."

"So you think Hyung-Chul will marry her?" Eun-Hee disputes his conclusions. "Once Hyung-Chul has what he wants from So-Won, he'll dispose of her faster than a pot of spoiled eomukguk (fish cake soup)."

"Why? You really think he'll get back together with Announcer Jin Sun-Mi?"

"Actually, their suppose breakup is as much rumor as his supposedly upcoming marriage to So-Won," she scoffs.

"Perhaps there's something to those rumors you don't know," Eun-Ki cautions. "If my contacts in London are right, Jin Sun-Mi has traded up, too. She may appear naive with her 'good girl' act, but she plays the gold-digging game as well as anyone, present company included."

"Jin Sun-Mi, a gold-digger? I don't buy it," Eun-Hee disagrees strenuously. "They say it takes one, to know one, so wouldn't I know, if anyone? I don't care what you think, I'm not taking any chances with that girl... When Jin Sun-Mi finishes her London tour next year, make sure she doesn't come back to Seoul."

"How can I guarantee that?"

"Aren't you in charge of the overseas Bureaus?"

"Of course."

"Then make it happen," she reproves him with a disparaging eye. "What about that joint venture with the BBC you're negotiating, starting next month?"

"What? How did you know about that?" Eun-Ki sputters. "We just agreed on a framework to start the discussions!"

"Didn't I tell you I still have spies?" she chuckles.

"Fine, I'll put Jin Sun-Mi's fate in your capable hands," Eun-Ki washes his own hands of the matter. "But in exchange, I want you to do something about Hyung-Chul and Park So-Won," he challenges her in turn, "just in case you're wrong, that is..."

"Don't give it another thought, everything is already being taken care of," she assures him.

Seeing her confidence, he prompts for more, "Tell me, what are your plans?"

"That would reveal too much, and a prudent lady never reveals her secrets, " Eun-Hee declines to deliver the details. "When the time is ripe, you'll know..."
