"Soon I'll have Hyung-Chul helpless in the palm of my hand. And finally, I'll get my revenge!" -- Kim Eun-Hee

 

 

PYEONGCHANG-DONG, SEOUL...

 

"A situation in the room? ... I see ... When was the last one? ... Screw up again like this, and I'll find someone else!"

 

Kim Eun-Hee puts down the phone and, in contrast to her heated voice on the phone, calmly tells her brother, "It seems we have a little problem. My dear son-in-law missed his midnight dose of 'medicine' and will be waking up at an inopportune time."

 

Kim Eun-Ki frowns at the news. "If the Board delays the vote because of this," he grumbles. "everything could be lost!"

 

"You're right," she agrees, and acknowledges. "I made a mistake, counting on an inept person."

 

Eun-Ki is surprised at her unexpected admission. "I knew we shouldn't trust a common criminal for something as critical as this," he smirks his I-told-you-so.

 

"What are you talking about?" Eun-Hee scoffs. "If you'd done your work properly in the first place, this wouldn't have happened," she charges him with causing the incident.

 

He objects to her criticism. Why am I to blame?"

 

"Our 'little problem' occurred because someone is where she's not supposed to be," Eun-Hee informs him. "Jin Sun-Mi is at the hospital right now as we speak, and if the report is correct, protecting Hyung-Chul like a pit bull."

 

Surprised to hear this, Eun-Ki blusters, "But, she's supposed to be in New York today."

 

"Apparently she slipped one past you, again," Eun-Hee remarks caustically, "What I wonder is, if this is just luck, or if she is onto us somehow."

 

"How could she know? he questions the possibility. "It has to be a coincidence. But whichever it is, President Yoon will do everything he can to sway the Board to wait," he frets. "What are we going to do now?"

 

"WE?" she mocks dismissively. "Since when did you ever contribute anything useful? Fortunately, I'm a step ahead of this. Hyung-Chul may be out of the coma, but if he never fully recovers from the effects, that clears the way for you to take control, right?"

 

"What's going to make that happen?"

 

"Watch, brother, and you'll see," Eun-Hee smirks. "It's not what, but who..."

 

She picks up the phone and dials, then puts it on speaker so he can hear, too...

 

 

After two rings, a female voice answers, "Yes?"

 

"Are you alone?" Eun-Hee speaks without identifying herself. "Can you talk?"

 

"I'm upstairs right now; they're in the kitchen," the woman answers. "Why?"

 

"But.." Eun-Ki blurts out. "Isn't that..."

 

Eun-Hee cuts in. "Just a moment..." and puts the phone on mute. "Yes, it's Huh Young-Mi. Surprised?"

 

"I thought she was a nun now, living at some orphanage," he answers, confused.

 

"Just shut up and listen," Eun-Hee orders and unmutes the phone. "There's a change in plans," she tells Young-Mi. "Get to the hospital as soon as possible; he'll be waking up around noon."

 

"Got it," Young-Mi takes note. "So what happened?"

 

"Your man's man messed up," Eun-Hee informs her, "and there's a new wrinkle; Jin Sun-Mi has appeared and is there with him."

 

Young-Mi chuckles, "Don’t worry, I can handle that bitch. What's your pleasure?"

 

"Just be sure she's out of the picture ASAP," Eun-Hee orders. "Then follow the plan we discussed. I'll take care of everything else."

 

"Don't worry, I'll do my part," Young-Mi confirms confidently.

 

"We'll be in touch..." Eun-Hee hangs up and smiles to her brother. "See, I told you I had everything covered."

 

"When did Huh Young-Mi get involved?" Eun-Ki asks, still amazed.

 

"Actually, it's been the works for a long time," she explains, "but Park So-Won stepped in the middle unexpectedly."

 

"I'll admit, I didn't see this coming, Sister," he replies, more appreciative of her cunning. "Those two have been at each other's throats for a long time. I think I'll enjoy watching this catfight..."

 

"I know you'd like to get back at Jin Sun-Mi for humiliating you, but don't get distracted from the goal," Eun-Kee warns, pledging, "Soon I'll have Hyung-Chul helpless in the palm of my hand. Finally, I'll have my revenge!"
