"I would've killed you before, but that idiot, Kim Woo-Jin, had to play the hero. So I have no qualms about doing it now." -- Bae In-Soo

ORPHANAGE CHURCH, KANGWON-DO ...

Bae In-Soo is the center of attention as he slowly swaggers up the aisle...

Fearing trouble, Sun-Dal signals for the ushers to move in as a group to intercept the intruder...

But anticipating their purpose, In-Soo stops and grabs a woman from the nearest pew...

Dragging Cho-Jeh to her feet, he pulls out a switchblade knife and flicks the folding 100mm blade open, holding it up for everyone to plainly see. Shrinking back, Cho-Jeh whimpers fearfully.

"Don't tempt me," he warns the approaching ushers sharply, moving the knife closer to Cho-Jeh.

Looking to Sun-Dal for guidance, they retreat at his nod.

In-Soo shoves Cho-Jeh back down into the pew and moves on, proceeding toward the front, a resolute scowl fixed on his face...

At the altar, he tells the priest, "Preacher, you're marrying the wrong people today!"

Recognizing In-Soo as the man who had assisted him at the orphanage, Hyung-Chul confronts him...

"What is the meaning of this outrage, Mr. Hong Kwang-Ho?"

In-Soo laughs. "You really don't know? Then let me enlighten you..."

But before he can continue, Young-Mi pushes past Hyung-Chul, boldly going right up to In-Soo...

"What are you doing here?" she protests. "Who told you about the wedding?"

"You can thank your sister for spilling the beans," he smirks.

"Sun-Mi? But why?"

"Ask her yourself," he brushes aside the question. "Does it really matter? The result is the same... "

Young-Mi sniffs alcohol on his breath, and says angrily, "You're drunk! Go home and sleep it off!"

"I'm not leaving without you," he refuses, grabbing her arm. "You and me, we belong together."

"Why would I go anywhere with a street rat!?" Young-Mi sneers.

"Because... I'm the real father of your child..."

For everyone in the know, his brash declaration of paternity is an exploding bomb...

"Young-Mi, what is he saying?" Hyung-Chul demands an explanation.

"He's drunk, and delusional," she claims. "He's harassed me for years. This is just another trick he's pulling."

"I have the proof right here, Director," In-Soo alleges, patting the pocket of his coat. "Documents from the drugs Young-Mi used to incapacitate you... The real trick here, that she used to make you marry her."

"I don't know what he's talking about," she denies the accusation. "He's a dropout who turned to crime... you can't trust a word he says!"

"I may be a dropout, but I'm not completely illiterate," In-Soo contends. "Among the listed side effects is... impotence..."

He waves the knife at Young-Mi...

"Which means our lovely bride here must be a liar... but that's obvious already, right?"

He looks over at Hyung-Chul, concluding, "As I see it, since that baby can't possibly be yours, Director... it must be mine."

"That's impossible!" Young-Mi argues desperately. "I was a postulant. You and I were never alone for anything like that to happen."

In-Soo scoffs, "I think I could find a witness or two, up in Chuncheon, that would tell a different story, of a certain wild, drunken chick."

"Witnesses can be bought," she disputes his accusation. "Oppa, please, you have to believe me.."

In-Soo waves the knife menacingly in her face, to shut her up...

"It doesn't matter what the Director believes. Today, either you and I marry, or you die," he threatens.

"I'll never marry you," she flatly refuses, dismissing his threat, "and you don't have the balls to kill me, since you love me!"

"Is that so?" he counters. "You'd be dead already except that idiot Kim Woo-Jin had to play the hero," he refers to his thwarted attack on the street. "So I'll have no qualms about doing it now."

He places the knife blade flat against Young-Mi's cheek.

The touch of cold steel, paired with the crazed glare in his eyes, turns what had seemed an idle threat into a real possibility...

"P-please... Think of our innocent b-baby," she begs, going down on her knees. "I'll do anything... Just don't kill me."

"You can stop acting, and cut the fake hysterics," he dismisses her pleading. "I won't kill you today..."

Then lowering the blade to her neck, to emphasize his point, In-Soo vows, "But if you ever cross me again, I'll slit this pretty throat wide open..."
