Welcome to All-About-AAE!
This fansite is dedicated to the continuing international interest in the South Korean MBC television drama All About Eve (titled 이브의 모든것 in Korean).
One of the top-rated dramas of 2000 (48.3% peak viewer nationwide AGB Neilsen), it gained a worldwide following through the Hallyu, or “Korean wave”, export of popular Korean culture. The drama came to the American market in 2004 with the release of the English-subtitled version produced by YesAsia.com, and also had wide acclaim across Latin America as one of the first Koreanovelas broadcast in Spanish.
A Philippine adaptation of the same name was broadcast in 2009 with characters 'Nicole' and 'Ericka' reprising the roles of Sun-Mi and Young-Mi. View the theme song here.
A Chinese adaptation starring Jang Hyuk, with a cameo appearance by Chae Rim in the first episode, was broadcast on Zhejiang Satellite TV in 2010. A review of this drama, including trailer links, can be seen here.
Today, after more than two decades have passed since the story of Jin Sun-Mi, Yoon Hyung-Chul, Huh Young-Mi, and Kim Woo-Jin gripped the attention of Korea, All About Eve is still regarded as a classic of the genre, and remains on the all-time-favorites list of many K-drama fans worldwide.
The drama's title and concept are taken from the Oscar-winning 1950 American movie All About Eve starring Bette Davis, and incorporated several parallels from the movie into the storyline and scenes. ( Read more about the movie here )
