Ki-Young is sitting on the living room couch.
Sun-Mi comes from the kitchen, carrying two tea cups.
She sets one cup on the coffee table and sits on the chair adjacent to the couch.
Ki-Young........... Thanks.
He picks up the cup and sips.
Sun-Mi.............. You're surprised, right?
Ki-Young........... Very. I never expected this side to you.
Sun-Mi.............. It's not just a side, it's who I really am -- the typical 'girl next door'.
....................... There's nothing special, or especially interesting, about me.
....................... The person you thought I was, is just an image Su-Jin created for Art Club.
....................... All along, I've been acting the part of a top celebrity ...
She sips her tea.
Sun-Mi.............. So I say what I'm supposed to say, do what I'm supposed to do.
....................... Dress how I'm supposed to dress, and live where I'm supposed to live.
Ki-Young........... The apartment?
Sun-Mi.............. According to Su-Jin, it's more appropriate for a celebrity lifestyle than this house.
....................... I'll continue to stay there through the end of the season.
....................... Then it's back to my old life again.
Ki-Young looks admiringly at Sun-Mi.
Ki-Young........... Do you know, that you're amazing?
Sun-Mi.............. Why do you say that?
Ki-Young........... Honestly, the entire time I had no idea. You seemed totally natural.
Sun-Mi.............. Are you saying I could win the Baeksang awards for acting?
They both laugh at her joke.
Ki-Young........... Actually, I'm not convinced that it's all an act. Genuine talent can't be faked.

Sun-Mi.............. I appreciate your compliments, biased as they may be.
....................... But I didn't invite you in to discuss my career prospects.
Ki-Young........... Then why?
Sun-Mi.............. Because you need to see that I'm not the right kind of woman for you.
Ki-Young........... Don't you think that's my prerogative to decide what person is right for me?
Sun-Mi.............. Except I can't ever be that person to you when you're not that person to me.
....................... As a friend, I don't want you to keep waiting, only to be disappointed.
....................... Not when there is another woman standing behind you.
Ki-Young........... (chuckles) Who would that be?
Sun-Mi.............. (smiling) You really don't know?

Sun-Mi comes into her apartment and closes the door.
She locks it and drops the keys into her purse.
Turning around, she walks through the entry with an eager smile.
Sun-Mi.............. Finally! What I've waited all day for!

Sun-Mi is enjoying a relaxing, warm soak in her bath with a glass of wine.
Contemplatively, she muses aloud to herself.
Sun-Mi.............. Voltaire said that the only way to truly see yourself is reflected in someone else's eyes.
....................... But everyone sees me so differently ...

Another morning at MBS.
SCENE: Art Club studios, morning
Su-Jin and Sun-Mi are in the middle of their daily planning meeting.
Su-Jin............... Filming live?! Do you know how many mistakes you make?!
Sun-Mi.............. If I'm going to beat Young-Mi, I want it to be on a level playing field.
....................... No glitz, or high-tech post-production. And no big PR campaign, either.
Su-Jin............... Are you certain you want to do this?
Sun-Mi.............. Young-Mi challenged me directly. It's a matter of my pride now.
....................... I want there to be no question that I won or lost on my own merits.
....................... So no one can say I'm a 'Cinderella' anymore.
Su-Jin............... You're taking a big risk with the ratings. Have you discussed this with Director Kim?
Sun-Mi.............. No, and I don't intend to. He's already given me permission to do the program my way.

Taking deep breaths, she calms the butterflies that flutter, as usual, just before she goes live on-air.
Inside the MBS remote van
Watching from a preview monitor, the PD coordinates the team through their earpieces.
PD................... Ready, Sun-Mi?
On the monitor, he sees Sun-Mi glance back toward the van and nod.
PD................... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... Cue!
The broadcast monitor shows the seamless cut from commercial to live camera performed back at the studio.
PD................... Camera 1 ... Stand by ... Cue!
Positioned behind Sun-Mi for an over-the-shoulder shot, the camera is focused on the tranquil lake in the distance.
The focus changes to Sun-Mi's face as she turns around with a beaming smile.
PD................... Sun-Mi ... Cue!
Outside the museum
Sun-Mi.............. Today we visited the Ho-Am Art Museum in Yongin.
....................... Earlier we surveyed the permanent collection of traditional Korean artworks.
....................... We also toured the beautiful and serene Hee-Won Garden.

Hearing his directive through her earpiece, Sun-Mi adjusts her stance to face the new camera.

Sun-Mi.............. In our closing segment, we'll take a stroll down the museum's Stone Image path.
....................... Lined with cherry trees, it's a popular attraction during the blossom season.
....................... But on a quiet day, like today, you can enjoy a contemplative walk under the leafy canopy.
She begins a measured pace along the path.
Starting from a long cover shot, the camera zooms in to a mid-shot of Sun-Mi.
Sun-Mi.............. Tonight we conclude the final episode of Art Club.
....................... Each week, we explored different aspects of the arts and how they impact our world.

The PD and control room techs are watching Sun-Mi on the preview monitor.
Tech................ What's going on? Why is she off script?
The PD sighs, then chuckles.
PD................... She's Jin Sun-Mi, that's why.
....................... Camera 2 ... Close up ... Cue!
On the preview monitor, Sun-Mi's tears are clearly seen wetting her cheeks when she turns back to the camera.
Sun-Mi.............. As I was saying, we have appreciated your generous response and continued support.
SCENE: Gwi-Sung's living room, evening
Sitting in his living room, Gwi-Sung and Jin-Suk are watching Art Club ...
Jin-Suk............. Look! ... Are those tears in Sun-Mi's eyes?
Meanwhile, Gwi-Sung is wiping tears from his own face with a handkerchief.

Amid the bustle, the PD's assistant walks over to Sun-Mi.
Assistant PD...... The van is almost ready to leave, Announcer Jin.
Sun-Mi.............. Tell the driver not to wait. I'll get a cab later.
Assistant PD...... You're coming to the celebration?
Sun-Mi.............. Of course. I wouldn't miss it!
Assistant PD...... Okay. See you then.
He walks off and gets in the crew van.
Sun-Mi watches the two MBS vehicles finish loading up and drive off down the lane.
Alone, she resumes her stroll down the shady path, reminiscing the time she was last here, as a college student.
Sun-Mi.............. It's hardly changed at all, since that day ...

[ loud whistle ]
Sun-Mi........ Oh ... Senior!
Hyung-Chul. Hey, people are watching. Why is your voice so loud?
Sun-Mi........ How long has it been? Did you miss me? Did you even think a little about me?

Lost in thought, she walks along, not paying attention to her surroundings.

Hyung-Chul....... This is the last show. How could I not come to see it?

Sun-Mi.............. Did I?
Hyung-Chul....... May we walk together?
Sun-Mi.............. (coolly) If it suits you.
They start off, strolling side-by-side.
Hyung-Chul....... Actually I came, hoping to have a word with you. You're a hard person to contact.
Sun-Mi.............. You're the Director. You could order me to see you any time you choose.
Hyung-Chul....... I didn't want to meet as the 'Director' and 'Employee', but as friends.
Sun-Mi.............. Because of Art Club competing with Eve's Morning,
....................... I wasn't sure if you still considered me as your friend.
Hyung-Chul....... That's business, not personal.
Sun-Mi.............. Is that what you meant, when you said we had a misunderstanding?
Hyung-Chul....... Actually, I was referring to that night we were at CREAM Cake House ...

Sun-Mi's father returns home late in his Land Rover Discovery SUV.

Gwi-Sung enters the living room from the foyer and steps into his slippers.

Hearing noises, he looks up the stairway.

Curious, he goes upstairs to investigate.
At the top of the steps, he appears puzzled when he sees a stack of cardboard boxes.
[ muffled banging ]
Gwi-Sung.......... Sun-Mi, is it you?
Sun-Mi.............. (O.S.) Yes, Daddy!
Sun-Mi comes out from an open doorway, wearing cleaning clothes and an apron.
She is carrying a large cardboard box, which she places with the stack by the stairs.
Gwi-Sung.......... What's going on?
Sun-Mi.............. I'm cleaning out the storeroom.
Gwi-Sung.......... I can see that. But why?
Sun-Mi.............. With Art Club ending, I don't need to live in that apartment any longer.
....................... Park Su-Jin said I could keep any of the clothes I've worn, if I wanted them.
....................... So now I'll need a larger space for my wardrobe.
....................... I thought the store room would work well as a dressing room.
Gwi-Sung.......... I see ...
He ponders what she told him for a moment.
Gwi-Sung.......... When are you moving back home?
Sun-Mi.............. I'll start sleeping here tonight. It'll be back and forth for a few days, as I move things over.
....................... And I'll continue to use the pool and exercise room at the apartment building,
....................... Until the Company's lease is up at the end of the month.
He smiles happily.
Gwi-Sung.......... It's nice to have you home again, Sun-Mi.
She smiles.
Sun-Mi.............. It's nice to be back, Daddy.
Gwi-Sung rolls up his shirtsleeves.

Sun-Mi and Su-Jin are talking in the Art Club studio.
Su-Jin............... I admit I was skeptical, but showing the audience the 'real' Jin Sun-Mi was a stroke of genius.
....................... It was exactly what the viewers wanted, an opening to the authentic person.
....................... Your natural instincts were more successful than all the effort I put into making an image for you.
Sun-Mi.............. I wouldn't say that. Someone I respect told me that image might not be so phony, after all.

He stops the engine, and they both get out, looking at each other across the car roof.
Young-Mi.......... Thank you for dinner. I really enjoyed it.
Hyung-Chul....... It's the least I could do. You've worked hard all week, putting in long hours.
Young-Mi.......... This is the last chance to bring up the ratings. I wanted to do my best for you and the team.
Hyung-Chul....... I'm sure your efforts will be rewarded ... Well then, get a good night's sleep.
....................... We have a meeting first thing to go over the scripts for Friday's show.
But Young-Mi has other plans for her night ...
Young-Mi.......... It's still early, Director. Would you like to come in for a drink?
Hyung-Chul....... Er ...
Young-Mi.......... We could get a head start on those scripts?
Hyung-Chul....... I'd better go. I still have an errand to run.
Young-Mi.......... So late?
Hyung-Chul....... (chuckles) Don't they say, better late than never? See you in the office tomorrow.
Young-Mi.......... ( looking disappointed ) Good night, Director. Thanks again.
Young-Mi watches as Hyung-Chul gets back in the car and drives away.
But when she turns to go in the door, she sees Woo-Jin sitting in his car, looking at her reprovingly.
Young-Mi and Woo-Jin are arguing in his car, parked on the street outside Young-Mi's apartment.
Young-Mi.......... I can't just blow off Director Yoon. He's someone who could fire me!
Woo-Jin............ It's OK ... You don't have to say that ...
Young-Mi looks displeased.
Woo-Jin............ I ... no matter what you do, I can take it all ...
He turns to look at Young-Mi.
Woo-Jin............ Just don't lie.
Young-Mi glares back at Woo-Jin.
Young-Mi.......... Lie? ... What are you talking about?! Who are you saying lied?! Are you doubting me?!
Woo-Jin looks away.
Young-Mi.......... My goodness! Do you think you can manipulate someone with just one tape? Why are you doing this?!
Woo-Jin............ I have no plans to manipulate you with that tape ... I erased that tape.
Young-Mi.......... (shocked) What?!
Woo-Jin silently looks at Young-Mi.
Young-Mi.......... You erased the tape? Honestly?
Woo-Jin............ Yeah, I did ...
He looks away.
Woo-Jin............ If that's what you're worried about, then don't.
Young-Mi.......... You're lying ...
Woo-Jin looks at Young-Mi without answering.
Young-Mi.......... Why would you erase the tape? Why did you? You have no reason to.
Woo-Jin............ I also have no reason to love you.
Woo-Jin reaches to the glove box and takes out the tape, holding it in front of Young-Mi.
She looks away from the tape.
Young-Mi.......... I don't want it!
Woo-Jin puts the tape into Young-Mi's hands.
Young-Mi.......... I said I don't want it!
Woo-Jin............ Take it. I didn't need it in the first place. I kept it in the car to give it to you.
Young-Mi looks at Woo-Jin, putting on a sad face.
Sun-Mi slowly walks up the lane to her home.
After living at the apartment, it's a comfortable feeling to come back to a familiar place.
Approaching the gate, she sees a rose stuck between the pickets.
She takes the rose and smiles, knowing that Hyung-Chul had left it for her.
Looking around, Sun-Mi doesn't see anyone watching.
SCENE: Hyung-Chul's car, night
As Hyung-Chul drives home, he recalls his conversation with Sun-Mi at the Ho-Am Museum ...

Hyung-Chul....... Now will you believe, Jin Sun-Mi, that I really want us to start over?
SCENE: Young-Mi's apartment, night
Young-Mi rushes into her apartment, immediately taking the tape out of her purse.
When she puts the tape into the VCR, the digital clock shows 12:12 AM.
Anxiously she watches the tape. It shows the MBS car park garage for a second...
When the video test pattern appears, Young-Mi breathes with relief.
[ phone ringing ]
Young-Mi goes to pick up the call, turning her back to the VCR.
Young-Mi.......... Hello? ... Yes, it's she ... Oh, Director Lee ...
She picks up the VCR remote control.
Young-Mi.......... Yes ... Really? ...
The tape in the VCR shows Woo-Jin, but Young-Mi doesn't see him.
Young-Mi.......... Of course, I love it ...
She stops the tape unseen.
When she turns around, the screen is blank.
Young-Mi.......... We'll do it tomorrow. Yes, I'll see you tomorrow ... Bye!
INTERCUT SCENES: Hyung-Chul's living room / Sun-Mi's bedroom, night
Sun-Mi's bedroom
Sun-Mi sits on her bed, happily gazing at the long-stemmed red rose in her hand.
Then her brow creases with a contrary thought ...
Sun-Mi.............. Hypothetical or not, just because he wants to start over with me, do I want to?

But Sun-Mi continues to intrude in his thoughts ...

Sun-Mi continues to ponder Hyung-Chul's overture, musing aloud ...

She smiles, nodding.
